Thomas Wayne Herrala Sr. - 1938 - 2023 - Alpharetta Georgia - a man of remarkable accomplishments, unwavering dedication, and boundless joy, passed away on December 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Born on November 3, 1938, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, Tom's journey through life was one of purpose and achievement. He graduated from Penn State University in 1960 with a degree in mechanical engineering, setting the stage for a career marked by innovation, technology, and leadership.

During his tenure at Hamilton Standard, Tom served as Executive Vice President of Space and Sea Systems, playing a pivotal role in the space movement of the 1960s that ultimately led to the historic moment of putting the first man on the moon. His dedication and contributions to this historic achievement reflect not only his professional prowess but also his commitment to advancing human exploration and understanding.

Tom's impact extended beyond the professional realm; he was a true pillar of the community. In Longmeadow, Massachusetts, he served on the Planning Board and as Town Moderator, where his guidance and vision shaped the growth and development of the town he held dear. In honor of his dedication to the Town of Longmeadow, November 17, 2004, was named "Tom Herrala Day." Tom was also the recipient of the Edwin H. Lyman, Jr. Distinguished Service Award at Longmeadow Country Club in recognition of his continuous dedicated service. His commitment to community service was a testament to his belief in the power of collective action to create positive change.

Amid his professional and civic accomplishments, Tom was known for his infectious smile and laughter that could light up any room. His zest for life and ability to find joy in every moment endeared him to friends, family, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.

Tom celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Margaret, creating a legacy of love and partnership that served as an inspiration to all who knew them. He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred, his mother, Barbara, his sibling David, and his wife Margaret Ann Herrala. Tom is survived by his devoted son, Thomas Herrala II (Jessica), his loving daughter, Kelly Herrala Fowler (Mike), and his cherished grandson, Robert Michael Fowler III.

A celebration of Tom and Margaret's life will take place with a funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Longmeadow, commencing at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 6. Concluding with Rites of Committal at St. Michael's Cemetery Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Passionist Fathers (86-45 Edgerton Blvd. Jamaica, NY 11432).

Charles “Chuck” Edward Grace Leech Sr., ‘55, of Huntington Beach, CA passed away January 25, 2024.

Chuck was born November 3, 1933, in Oil City, PA to the late Theodore and Trenna Leech. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rosemary Leech; sons, Chuck Leech Jr (wife, Kelli), Dave Leech (wife, Edie); daughter, Lindy Leech Painter (husband, Kelly); grandchildren, Trent Painter, Lauren Meyer, Kate Painter, Sarah Aucutt, Dylan Painter, Elizabeth Morini; 7 great grandchildren and beloved dog, Belle.

As a career decorated officer and pilot in the Air Force he served his country proudly. His family was his biggest source of pride and joy. In retirement he loved traveling with his wife, was an avid Penn state fan, played and excelled in numerous sports and enjoyed hunting. We love you forever, Cheers Papa.

A Mass was held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Huntington Beach at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 1.

Private services will be held at St. Agatha Cemetery in Meadville.
