Theta Chi Funds, Inc. Counts the Support of Howard Alter, Jr.
Howard R. Alter, Jr., Executive Director of Theta Chi from 1968 through 1984, remains one of the foundation lead-ing contributors. Brother Alter, Omega '41, Penn State, has led the fraternity in numerous ways. He currently serves as President of the National Board of Trustees, and as an ex officio director of Theta Chi Funds for Leadership and Edu-cation, Inc. He served as a Regional Counselor prior to his election to the Grand Chapter. He served as National President from 1962-66.
Brother Alter ranks as one of three brothers listed in the Chairman's Council of contributors in Theta Chi Funds, Inc. Always counted upon for his generous annual gift, Brother Alter plans to remember Theta Chi in his last will and testament as well. He has stipulated that the foundation benefit from a portion of his estate. Howard Alter, Jr. truly ranks as one of the giants in Theta Chi, as well as the greek world. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Interfraternity Conference. He has served as President of the Fraternity Executives Association, an organization which honored him with a Life Membership. Brother Alter has received literally every award bestowed on an alumnus by the Grand Chapter. His service to the fraternity has been his life's work, unsurpassed.
