Jack Mansfield Patterson 

Jack Mansfield Patterson of Palm Desert. Calif., died in San Francisco Monday. 

He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of Edgar Newton and Eva Elizabeth Pruden Patterson, and was a 1939 graduate of Penn State, where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He was also a member of the BPOE of Indio. Calif. 

Funeral services were held today in Palm Springs, Calif., with burial in Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella. Calif. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Elks Lodge charities or a favorite charity.


Jack Mansfield Patterson of 73165 Tumbleweed Ln., Palm Desert. Calif., died at Mt . Zion Hospital. San Francisco. on Feb. 13. 

He was horn in Pittsburgh on March 8, 1915, the son of Mr and Mrs. Edward N. Patterson. He is survived a brother, William Patterson. 909 S. Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh.

On Feb, 3, 1939, he received a BS degree in health and physical education from the University, where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. 

He received his initial flight instruction from Sherm Lutz of the State College Air Depot and soloed on Nov 10, 1937. He was a naval aviator in World War II, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander. He was later with the Boeing Company of Seattle. Wash., and with the Flight Service Station, Air Traffic Control, Federal Aviation Agency, in Thermal. Calif. 

Funeral services and burial were held in Palm Springs. Calif., on Feb. 16.
