Fraternity Aids Drive - CDT Story

Fraternity Aids Drive

The 1972 Cancer Crusade got off to an early start when the proceeds from the Ski for Cancer event held March 5 were turned over to the Centre County unit recently. Theta Chi Fraternity, sponsor of the event, presented a check for more than $500 to Roger Jacoby, State College, crusade committee chairman.

The campaign was held both on the University campus and in the State College business distirct, where tables were set up to sell transportation and lift tickets for Oregon Ski Hill.

A feature of the fund-rasiing activity was the selection of a snow queen. The four candidates and the sororities they represented were Pat O'Hanlan, Delta Delta Delta; Debbie Christenberry, Kappa Alpha Theta; Nancy Markley, Alpha Xi Delta, and Barb Bixler, Alpha Chi Omega. The winner, selected on the basis of a penny a vote, was Miss O'Hanlan.
