K.I.C.K.S. 2003 Report

This year K.I.C.K.S. was co-hosted by Alpha Xi Delta sorority. We went all out this year and built new soccer goals out of PVC piping and real netting. We had T-Shirts custom made with multiple colors; so all teams had different colors. After posting flyers and handing out of registration forms, we ended up with 21 teams in three divisions (independent, sorority and fraternity). The day of the event went off without a hitch. We had a DJ playing music and Canyon Pizza donated 50 pizzas, which help fill the time between games and made they day seem less ordinary.

Midway through the day, two Make-A-Wish families came by and enjoyed our "Make-A-Wish hour", where many brothers and participates played with the two kids. This was actually the first time that one of the kids has played since he began his treatment. He used to be on a traveling team.

At the end of the day, we raised $3,864. Almost double, what we raised last year. Because we raised enough to grant a child's wish and then some, we were invited to report our donation on the radio when the Make-A-Wish foundation comes to State College.

This year's event was absolutely amazing and we are very excited for next year.
