Theta Chi fraternity marks 75th anniversary at PSU

The 25th oldest chapter of Theta Chi fraternity has been at Penn State for three-quarters of a century.

The chapter's 55 members invited about 150 alumni to receptions at the Nittany Linn Inn to celebrate the 75th anniversary.

on the location of the Mineral Sciences Building, said Theta Chi President Eric Kraus.

Members have been preparing for the celebration for about a year and have painted the entire

house and laid down a new floor, Kraus said.

One of the fraternity's founding fathers and a 1921 University graduate. Walter E. Segl, will be present. A commemorative meeting reinstating alumni will take place Saturday.

Rich Partridge, director of chapter services, said Carlton Bennett, the national president,

was set to represent the national organization this weekend.

"The national fraternity is very proud of our rich history at Penn State University and we wish our

alumni and undergraduates good luck on this significant occasion," he said.
