CDT - Student Notebook - Br. Kistler
Gerald A. Kistler of Boalsburg. and Scott W. Smith of 801 Townhall Road West, Waterford are recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants at Penn State.
They were selected on the basis of their leadership and academic achievement. Kistler, 33, is a returning adult student who has earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average since he resumed his studies at Penn State. A special agent with Northwestern Mutual Life, he has earned bronze and silver awards from his firm for sales and sales growth.
He also has been a self-employed businessman and was president of the Central Pennsylvania Farmer's Market Association and financial adviser to Theta Chi fraternity.
Smith, 21, has earned a 3.96 average during his academic career at the university. He is enrolled in the University Scholars Program and is a member of the Accounting Club and treasurer of the Penn State chapter of Alpha Tau Omega, a fraternity which he helped re-establish.
